Activities

Fort Napoleon - The fort can be reached via a 30-minute walk or by taking the local minibus. Its spectacular hilltop location was of strategic importance during colonial times. Today the fort offers visitors splendid views of the area. Baie de St.Pierre - Situated in the northeast of the island (a 30-minute walk) is this pretty bay, sheltered by a series of offshore rocks. Nearby is a spot where the waves surge up against an amphitheater-like inlet that has been gouged out of the cliffs. Morne de Chameau - At 1,014 feet, this is the highest peak on the island. Beaches - To the east of the village lie several small beaches, some within easy walking distance from the tender pier. The farthest is the Bois Joli, where a small resort hotel of the same name is located.
